We stand as advocates for the use of gentle care while wrangling, training and handling. It is important for us do our work using the most ethical option at the time with the resources we have available when dealing with the horses.
For the Ferals Society is determined to provide a herd management program that also focuses on bringing our community together to reconnect us to our relationship with horses. We would like to involve as many OKIB community members interested in learning about how to maintain our horse population as we can. There are many different roles that can be filled as we build our program including facilitators, chasers/wranglers, trainers, farriers, vets, and equine dentistry etc.
We know that circumstances can change in an instant and that there are times when providing for your horse can be more challenging than other times. We hope to support people who might be experiencing this and could use extra help with caring for their horses. We do not shame or judge people who need an extra helping hand to love and care for their animals.
